Description
Claudio Monteverdi is regarded as the first great opera composer in music history. But not only that: he also broke new ground with his sacred vocal music at the beginning of the 17th century. What makes his music so special? He was able to express the entire range of human emotions: love, hate, joy, sorrow, anger, humility and much more. Leonardo García Alarcón has put together an exciting programme on the theme of the seven deadly sins for his ensemble Cappella Mediterranea from Monteverdi’s operas and spiritual works, reflecting the composer’s complete expressive spectrum.
