Description
Esa-Pekka Salonen is able to unleash the full dynamic range of an orchestra – both as conductor and composer. During these concerts, we encounter the Finnish native, Composer in Residence for the 2022/23 season, in both roles. Esa-Pekka Salonen will conduct the German premiere of his Organ Concerto with Olivier Latry as soloist and will also appear as a musical storyteller, presenting the enchanting fairy-tale world of Ma Mère l’Oye (Mother Goose) by Maurice Ravel as well the composer’s Baroque-inspired suite Le Tombeau de Couperin and the expressive music of Béla Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin.
