Latin American music in a philharmonic sound is the trademark of the Bolero Berlin ensemble. The musicians, whether members of the Berliner Philharmoniker or jazz instrumentalists, are united by their love of Cuban bolero and Argentinean tango. But not exclusively – as the programme of this concert shows: Bolero Berlin spans the musical spectrum from Bach’s Baroque Sarabande to Ravel’s Valses nobles et sentimentales and from songs and chansons by Weill, Gershwin and Gardel to Piazzolla’s Tangos Nuevo and a dreamy work by Nadia Boulanger.
