Description

Anyone who loves music for organ and large brass ensemble will certainly not be disappointed by this programme. Sixteen musicians from the ranks of the Berliner Philharmoniker will be taking part when Richard Gowers takes to the organ. The young organist from London has become no stranger to Berlin since his Philharmonie debut almost two years ago. At that time, he performed with the Philharmonic brass players to great success, which soon gave rise to the wish to experience the 30-year-old once again in the Philharmonie. No sooner said than done. Miloslav Kabeláč’s expressive Third Symphony can be heard alongside a new arrangement of Richard Strauss’s Festliches Präludium. Musician Richard Gowers reveals yet another talent with this setting of Strauss’ festive work for organ and brass. Jakub Hrůša conducts.
