The Swedish star soprano Maria Bengtsson, former ensemble member of the Komische Oper Berlin, returns to the Komische Oper stage with a Scandinavian-German Lieder evening. Accompanied by the French pianist Sarah Tysman, she presents songs by the three Scandinavian composers Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius and Ture Rangström in the first part of the evening, then after the intermission, she performs works by two German-speaking masters of the »Lied«: Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss, including such well-known compositions as »Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel«, »Serenade« and »Morning«.
