Konzerthaus Berlin
Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Iván Fischer
Concert
Gendarmenmarkt, 10117 Berlin
mit Fatma Said (Artist in Residence) und Olivia Vermeulen

Description
Soprano Fatma Said, Artist in Residence at the Konzerthaus Berlin for the current season, has long felt at home on Gendarmenmarkt – after all, the Cairo-born singer completed her studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. In this concert, she can be heard for the first time during her Berlin residency. Honorary conductor Iván Fischer will take to the podium with a programme that includes songs by Richard Strauss and, together with mezzo-soprano Olivia Vermeulen, Dvořák’s “Moravian Duets”. The Konzerthausorchester will also play excerpts from Smetana’s symphonic poems “My Fatherland”. Doesn’t ring a bell? You’ll certainly be familiar with the most famous piece, “The Moldau”!
