Biréli Lagrène Quartet

Virtuosity, stylistic freedom, and deep roots in the jazz tradition set him apart—Biréli Lagrène has been one of the world's leading jazz guitarists for decades. Growing up in a family of musicians in Alsace and inspired early on by Django Reinhardt, he developed his own distinctive style at a young age. His career has taken him from gypsy jazz to fusion to modern trio and solo formats. His musical partners include such greats as Stéphane Grappelli, John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucía, and Stanley Clarke. Awarded the Django d'Or, the Victoire de la Musique, and the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, Biréli Lagrène remains a unique ambassador for international jazz.
