The members of Berlin PianoPercussion and the participating composers are united by their engagement with social and political issues of the present and recent past. As with the “Weltspuren” project, the focus is on ways of aesthetically reflecting on this topic.

With “Time Capsules”, they want to juxtapose works by three prominent female composers, all of which were written in 2015, with the world premiere of a work from 2024 and thus artistically reflect on an arc of political crisis years. The older works appear as musical “time capsules” whose intellectual content can be revisited from the distance of almost a decade.
