With the opera children's orchestra, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Staatskapelle Berlin complement the great commitment of the music schools in the state of Berlin. Under the direction of Giuseppe Mentuccia and together with members of the Staatskapelle and instrumental teachers, around 90 children work on orchestral pieces and excerpts from the major opera repertoire. Together with the soprano Maria Kokareva and the children's choir of the State Opera, the Opera Children's Orchestra presents a moderated concert for school classes and families with works by Antonín Dvořák as well as, for the first time, a world premiere composed by Marius Felix Lange.
