Jörg Widmann and the German–South African Signum Quartett have been artistic partners and collaborators for several years. Together they continue Widmann’s season­-spanning concert series dedicated to the great clarinet quintets, which has so far included compositions by Mozart, Weber, and Brahms. The current program is dedicated to Max Reger’s late­-Romantic A-­major Quintet of 1915–6, which the Signum Quartett complements with music by Haydn and Hugo Wolf.
