Description
Over the course of three seasons, Jörg Widmann has presented music history’s greatest clarinet quintets at the Pierre Boulez Saal—from Mozart to Weber and Brahms, to Reger and Rihm. These celebrated models became both an inspiration and a burden when he was composing his own Quintet—which he completed in 2017. To conclude the series, Widmann performs his work together with the Heath Quartet, which also presents music by English Baroque composer Matthew Locke and Ludwig van Beethoven.
